Jack Shore releases statement after first career loss at UFC on ABC 3: ‘Nothing’s hurt except for my pride’

UFC on ABC marked Jack Shore’s first-career setback.

After a 5-0 start to his UFC career, the formerly unbeaten Shore (16-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) was submitted by Ricky Simon (20-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) this past Saturday at UBS Arena on Long Island.

It was a tough pill to swallow for the 27-year-old Welshman, who was looking to continue his ascent up the bantamweight ladder. Shore took to Instagram on Sunday to open up on his loss.

“No excuses, just wasn’t my night last night guys. Nothings hurt (except) for my pride. Want to thank everyone for their kind messages of support.

The highest of highs and the lowest of lows in this game. Thanks to all those that stick by me, win or lose I’ll always give you my all inside the cage. Big love. Tank x”
