‘Thug Nasty’ Accepts UFC St. Louis Callout: ‘I Need Some Money’

‘Thug Nasty’ didn’t hesitate to accept Woodson’s challenge after the St. Louis native beat Alex Caceres, declaring it an Arkansas vs. Missouri showdown.

After defeating Alex Caceres via an iffy judge’s decision at UFC St. Louis, Sean Woodson is now 6-1 with the promotion and looking to break into the featherweight rankings. The man he feels will get him there? Everyone’s favorite flat earth educator Bryce Mitchell.

“I just beat a top 15 ranked guy,” Woodson said during his in-cage interview. “I feel like I should be top 15 next. Next, I want Bryce Mitchell. I want No. 10, then I want No. 5, then I want a title shot.”

Caceres isn’t actually ranked, but that didn’t stop Mitchell (ranked No. 12) from accepting Woodson’s challenge.

“When and where, dude? When and where?” Mitchell said in a video posted to his socials. “I’m sitting here watching this s—. I’m ready. I need some money. I’m ready to fight you. Tell me where.”

Mitchell hasn’t fought since December 2023 when Josh Emmett knocked him out badly in one of the most violent finishes of the year. It’s been five months since then, so the timing ain’t bad to set up a Bryce vs. Sean showdown for the fall so “Thug Nasty” can replenish his bank account.

The UFC hasn’t exactly been going easy on Mitchell over the past two years. He’s 1-2 over that time period with losses to top featherweights Ilia Topuria and Josh Emmett. Even the guy he beat, Dan Ige, was an extremely tough test. And UFC matchmakers have tried to book Mitchell against suffocating grappler Mosvar Evloev … twice!

In comparison to that list of killers, Sean Woodson would be a gift. No wonder Bryce is jumping all over the idea. We’ll keep you updated on if the UFC goes for it as well.
