Tyson Fury isn’t the only one who thinks he won.

Fury suffered his first professional loss yesterday (Sat., May 18, 2024) as Oleksandr Usyk scored a split-decision win from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (watch highlights). Usyk is now the undisputed Heavyweight champion.

Minutes after the fight, WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis took to Twitter to slam the decision.

In a now-deleted tweet, Davis wrote, “One good rd doesn’t win a fight.’

Davis is talking about the eighth round when Usyk rocked Fury badly and scored a huge knockdown (check it out here). While the boxing match was close, the Ukrainian fighter won seven of the rounds on two judges’ scorecards. So sorry, “Tank,” your assessment is wrong.

Davis is set to return to action on June 15 against Frank Martin for his WBA Lightweight title.

A past opponent of Davis, Ryan Garcia, also thought Fury beat Usyk.

Garcia was ringside for the fight and caught up with Fight Hub TV immediately after the fight.

“I thought Fury pulled it through, but Usyk is a hell of a fighter,” Garcia said. “I don’t think [Usyk] was better than I thought; I didn’t think he could handle that much of a big guy. For sure, [Fury] will be there in the rematch.”

“King” tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug (PED), Ostarine, after his huge upset win over Devin Haney and is currently waiting for the results of his B-sample to clear his name.
