Sean shared a little insight into how he thinks the UFC operates after both he and Paulo Costa went through tough negotiations for their UFC 302 bout.

Sean Strickland is back in action this weekend (June 1st, 2024) and he’s bringing all his opinions with him.

Over the past several days, “Tarzan” has dissed the new UFC gloves, trashed bare-knuckle boxing, and demeaned his opponent Paulo Costa. Now he’s going in hard on the UFC itself over what he’s described in the past as ‘cut throat behavior.’

We almost didn’t get Strickland vs. Costa at UFC 302 because both fighters had to battle the UFC for a little more money to co-headline the big event. Sean shared his thoughts on the constant struggle to not get screwed over by the billion dollar promotion.

“Sometimes you gotta get ready to f—ing throw away your entire career if you don’t get your s—, you know,” Strickland said during a recent interview with Daniel Cormier. “It’s just doing the f—ing right things, man. Like, the UFC doesn’t do the right things. It doesn’t f—ing do the right things. It doesn’t do the right things with most of their roster.”

“Like, if you go look at what these guys that run [the UFC] you see what they’re making to what [fighters] get paid, it’s f—ing s—, dude. The UFC does not do the fucking right things. And unless you hold them at f—ing gunpoint, they ain’t gonna f—ing do it.”

“But that’s all f—ing business these days,” Strickland added. “All these f—ing corporation leeches. They’re like, just how it f—ing works, man. Look at the working man gap, bro. And again, my gap is a lot f—ing smaller than your guys’ gap, but just how it works. Corporations are just f—ing sucky businesses.”

It sounds like Comrade Strickland may have picked up some crazy ideas while competing in Canada earlier this year. At least he managed to sort out his pay dispute with the UFC this time around. As we know, he’s not afraid to pull a gun when needed (or not needed), so that probably helped.
