KO Alert! ‘King’ Walsh Shines With Another Brutal Finish

Callum Walsh turned Carlos Ortiz into a human punching bag last night (Fri., June 7, 2024) at Hollywood Fight Nights live on UFC Fight Pass from Santa Ynez, California, as the Irish sensation turned in a nasty second-round knockout to remain undefeated.

If you’re unaware of who Walsh is then you’re truly missing out. The young Irish sensation has been taken under the wing of UFC CEO, Dana White, and has been promoted as boxing’s next big thing. To this point, “King” has not disappointed, racking up a 10-0 record with eight stoppages entering this weekend.

On Friday, Walsh took his stock to an entirely new level. The 23-year-old knockout artist absolutely dominated Ortiz in the main event. He leveled Ortiz in the first round with a slick knockdown before scoring another midway through the second. Once Ortiz returned to his feet Walsh was there for more offense. He launched a perfectly-timed left hand that caught Ortiz flush and put him down for the count.

It was yet another incredible performance by Walsh, who is clearly ready for a step-up in competition his next time out. He’ll now bring an unscathed 11-0 record into the second half of 2024, which should see him compete at least once more.
