‘Medical Issue’ Cancels UFC Co-Main Event

Brad Tavares is no longer fighting Junyong Park.

That’s because the South Korean slugger was yanked after the UFC Vegas 94 early weigh ins as the result of a “medical issue,” according to a statement from the promotion. That leaves matchmakers with no time to find a middleweight replacement for the July 20 card in Las Vegas.

Sorry, no two-hour heroics will be considered for lousy APEX lineups like this one.

Tavares (20-9) was hoping to rebound from his technical knockout loss to Gregory Rodrigues at UFC Vegas 86 earlier this year in “Sin City.” As for Park (17-6), three years younger than Tavares at 33, he was last seen dropping a split decision to Andre Muniz at UFC Vegas 83 late last year.
