UFC Apex Shutting Down For Renovations

Are you ready for a half-year vacation from UFC Apex? We sure are. And when it comes back, it could be a half-decent venue to watch fights in.

Good news, fight fans: we’ll soon have a nice vacation from having to watch MMA fights in the UFC Apex.

Following this year’s season of Dana White’s Contender Series and a few final UFC Fight Nights in November, the UFC Apex will be shut down until mid-2025 as the venue gets renovated. White confirmed the plans in a recent interview with TNT Sports.

“The Apex is going under construction,” he said. “We’re actually expanding the Apex. It’s gonna be bigger and better. We’re doing like a $25 million expansion on the Apex. There’s gonna be hospitality, more bathrooms. Bigger. More seating. Yeah, we’re expanding.”

The small size and dead atmosphere has been a big reason why fans hate the Apex. If they renovate it into a solid 1000+ person venue with a decent vibe and tickets normal fans can afford, we may have less reasons to bag on the UFC for continuing to overuse the place.

Whatever happens, White suggested we’d be seeing more UFC Fight Night events across the country.

“It’s not like we’re going to 100% go away from the Apex,” White said. “The Apex is incredible for us. But we are going to start traveling Fight Nights more.”

Travelling Fight Nights means the UFC will have to book shows that can actually move tickets. That means better quality cards, which makes us much happier fans. November can’t come soon enough!
