Daniel Cormier dominates Khabib Nurmagomedov in leaked training footage

Daniel Cormier showed his dominance as footage surfaced of his grappling exchanges with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Over the years, fans have come accustomed to seeing the pair bulldoze through opponents in their respective weight classes. Not only are Cormier and Khabib two of the greatest to ever grace the sport, but the good friends rightfully earned Hall of Fame honors under the UFC banner while sharpening their skillset side-by-side.

American Kickboxing Academy has produced wars on its mats that will never come to light, but that wasn’t the case when Daniel Cormier rolled with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The video footage showed Khabib battling to improve his position and fishing for a submission. While he was doing this, ‘DC’ was casually making jokes and toying with the former UFC lightweight king. 

After easily fending off any offense coming his way, Cormier then swept the Russian and took top position, all while barely breaking a sweat.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most dominant fighters in the history of the mixed martial arts —  boasting a flawless record of 29-0.

Despite his brilliance, there are weight classes in combat sports for a reason. The Dagestan native was no match for the much bigger, much more powerful Daniel Cormier as seen above.

During his best years in the sport, many believed Khabib Nurmagomedov could find success in the higher weights.

Rumors of a move up to welterweight lingered over his career for several years before his eventual retirement in 2020.

Though it never came to fruition, there was a lot of talk of a super-fight between Khabib and Georges St-Pierre. The fight would have undoubtedly been one of the biggest in the sport’s history and is still discussed among the MMA fanbase to this day.
