Alex Pereira sends chilling proposal to Dricus Du Plessis
As he continues his terrifying dominance in the UFC, Alex Pereira has his sights set on taking other champions belts.
The South American openly stated his interest in making a move up to heavyweight and competing for gold — in what would be his third UFC weight class. Now, despite leaving the division behind for greener pastures, ‘Poatan’ is relishing the thought of returning to 185 lbs.
The middleweight division isn’t short on top contenders, but a potential super-fight between titleholder Dricus Du Plessis and former champ Alex Pereira would likely be huge.
Pereira made his goals clear with his recent post on social media.
“I’m focused on my next fight and I’m going prepared,” Pereira said on Instagram. “But you never know what can happen.”
“So, regardless of the result, I want to go down one more time to middleweight and go for the belt.”
“Hey, Dricus, bring your will to fight me so that you can prove that you are better than me. With your public statement, it is easy to make this happen. Chama.”

Fresh off a win over combat sports legend Israel Adesanya, Dricus Du Plessis is beginning to look unstoppable. His awkward style makes many underestimate him, though he has proven his prowess by winning each of his eight fights inside the octagon.
Both parties seem interested in making the champion vs. champion fight happen, though Alex Pereira must first welcome his next challenger into the cage.
Live on October 5 from Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, UFC 307 will be headlined by the returning light heavyweight champion.
Pereira will collide with fan-favorite Khalil Rountree Jr., as the two violent power-punchers vow to put on a show for the spectators.
Rountree Jr. has been on a tear of late, riding a five-fight win streak and viciously finishing four of those opponents.
