Brady Blasts ‘Fraud Check’ Haters: ‘It’s A Cesspool Full Of Miserable People’

Sean Brady has had a pretty solid career thus far.

Gilbert Burns stands in the way of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native in UFC Vegas 97’s main event this weekend (Sat., Sept. 7, 2024). Having been nearly perfect in his 17-fight career (16-1), Brady still finds himself fending off haters after his lone loss.

Brady, 31, took on the future UFC Welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad, at UFC 280 in October 2022. Overcome by “Remember the Name,” Brady lost the bout via a second round technical knockout (watch highlights). Despite a rebound unanimous decision win since then over Kelvin Gastelum, Brady has been hit with the “fraud check” label from “fans.”

“I don’t understand the fraud check thing,” Brady said at UFC Vegas 97 media day. “Twitter f*cking sucks. It’s a cesspool full of miserable people. It’s insane. These people on there are nuts.

“The sh*t that these guys say you would never say to your face,” he continued. “They’re some f*cking dork in their mom’s basement just eating Cheetos. But how I got fraud checked, Joey [Pyfer] got fraud checked, a bunch of other guys got fraud checked — what’s getting fraud checked by a Top 10 fighter, Top 15? I just don’t understand it.”

Like Brady, his good friend and teammate, Pyfer, recently suffered his first UFC loss as well, dropping a unanimous decision to Jack Hermansson in February 2024.

Ultimately, Brady can climb one step closer to his first career title shot and a rematch with Muhammad if he takes out Burns.

“It’s frustrating because it’s never other fighters saying it,” Brady said. “I guess I got fraud checked by the UFC champion. Thanks, bro.”
