UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley will have a target at UFC 306.

“Suga” will be zeroing in on the training camp cut that opponent Merab Dvalishvili suffered while sparring for their Noche UFC main event on Sept. 14 at The Sphere in Las Vegas. “The Machine” made the “stupid” decision to broadcast his injury to the world on social media.

No regrets!

“I am a 100-percent going to open up that cut whether it’s healed or not,” O’Malley told Kevin Iole. “I don’t know how much it can heal, I’ve never really had any bad cuts so I’m not sure. That’s the left side of his face [and] this right hand doesn’t miss. I’ll probably accidentally hit his nose before I hit that cut. The nose just kind of takes up like 85-percent of his face. So I’m gonna try and get around his nose and and to get to that cut. Dana referring to him as one of the … I don’t remember what he said, one of the stupidest people or beyond stupid or whatever he said was pretty accurate. I mean the dude’s just not that smart of a guy.”

He can also target that hole in Merab’s arm.

The UFC 306 main event marks the second straight title defense for O’Malley, who captured the crown from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 then retained it by turning away Marlon Vera at UFC 299. As for Dvalishvili, he’s currently ranked No. 1 at 135 pounds and is the winner of 10 straight dating back to late 2018.
