Conor McGregor reacts to Michael Chandler vs. Charles Oliveira booking: ‘Give me a f-ing date’

The return of former two-division champion Conor McGregor has long been talked about but hasn’t yet come to fruition.

McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.  He coached The Ultimate Fighter 31 opposite Michael Chandler which aired in the summer of 2023.  McGregor and Chandler were originally expected to meet that fall.  The fall of 2023 turned into the summer of 2024.

McGregor was scheduled to face Chandler in the UFC 303 main event on June 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but was forced out of the bout due to a toe injury.  UFC CEO Dana White has stated that McGregor will not return until 2025.

On Friday, it was announced that Chandler would no longer wait for McGregor to return and will take on former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in the UFC 309 co-main event on Nov. 16.  McGregor reacted to the news via social media.

“Chandler saw that takedown getting stuffed and mauled and officially dipped. Little Fat P*ssy. I’m at the hard rock hotel Florida for the bare knuckle tonight. Got tested earlier today by DFSI. Give me my f*cking date,” McGregor wrote on X.

McGregor could still face Chandler when he does make the walk to the octagon again.  But a win over the second-ranked Oliveira would put Chandler squarely in the title picture.
