Mac Mocks Khabib’s Dad In Deleted Tweet

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired from MMA last fall, suggested that “good always defeats evil” in the wake of Dustin Poirier’s victory over Conor McGregor in the UFC 264 main event on July 10 in Las Vegas.

“COVID is good and father is evil?” McGregor asked his Twitter followers, in a tweet that was quickly deleted.

Nurmagomedov lost his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, as a result of complications from COVID-19 back in summer 2020. At the time, “Notorious” posted his condolences on social media praising Abdulmanap for his contributions to combat sports.

“It was fake, Conor, this is my opinion,” Khabib recently told ESPN about McGregor’s media persona. “Couple months ago we see how he was nice, now he try to be like … it looks like fake, you know? Like Dustin say, this guy like bag of shit. Same opinion.”

Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor by submission in the UFC 229 headliner back in late 2018 but their rivalry — which includes the infamous Brooklyn bus incident — may never end, thanks to what “The Eagle” refers to as “the eternal shame of losing.”

“How you gonna support this guy? Don’t talk about father, or ‘I’m gonna kill you,’ or about wife, you cannot talk about this,” Nurmagomedov continued. “If MMA community gonna support like this bad people, this sport gonna go like bad way. Some trash talk I support. But you cannot go family, wife, father, religion, this is not like promote fight, this is little bit dangerous.”

It’s also not the first time “Notorious” has mocked Nurmagomedov’s father.

McGregor also took some time this week to revisit his Poirier loss, which came by way of technical knockout when “Notorious” broke his leg. Prior to the finish, “The Diamond” was dominating the fight and even landed a pair of 10-8 scores from two cageside judges.

That produced another angry tweet which like the first one, was promptly deleted.

Jumping a guillotine is not a takedown.
