Long before he was one of the world’s best welterweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 170-pound champion, Tyron Woodley, dreamed of becoming a boxer.

In fact, “The Chosen One” can still throw hands with the best of ‘em, and insists that he’s not above taking a fight in the “sweet science.” And like Conor McGregor before him, Woodley is going straight to the top.

“I still can box right now,” Woodley told TMZ. “I want Canelo. I don’t want to go in there and fight ‘Boo Boo the Fool’ because if he lands a couple shots off on you then everybody going to be like, ‘Oh, Tyron got touched up by this dude, and he ain’t even a .500 fighter.’ If you go in there and risk it all and let it hang, I want the No. 1 guy.”

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is a multi-weight boxing champion with a 52-1-2 record, one that includes 35 knockouts. The Mexican pugilist is scheduled to bang with defending WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev on Nov. 2 in Las Vegas.

After that, he’ll be available for Woodley.

“I’m trying to knock him out,” Woodley continued. “If I land, he’s going down, let’s not even play. It don’t matter how many boxing and fights you got and how many MMA stuff, if I hit Canelo with everything, throw some ass on the punch, it’s a wrap.”

Woodley (19-4-1), who considers himself the greatest of all time, has not competed since coughing up his 170-pound crown to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 back in March and as of this writing, remains unbooked.
