Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, appeared in Dublin District Court on Friday morning (Oct. 11, 2019) to answer for the pub punch he uncorked inside a local watering hole back in April.

Judge Marie Keane adjourned the case for three weeks so that “Notorious” can decide on whether he’ll take a guilty plea, or contest his assault charge and head to trial. McGregor’s legal team will review the prosecution’s evidence and return to court on Nov. 1.

A conviction could result in fine or imprisonment (or both).

The CCTV footage released from the Marble Arch Pub show McGregor passing out drinks, presumably samples of his Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey. When one persnickety patron turned his nose up at the free booze, “Notorious” decked him before getting shuffled off.

Fortunately, no cell phones were smashed during the incident.

McGregor, no stranger to courtrooms (or handcuffs), has not competed inside the Octagon since his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 back in October of 2018. That said, he’s certainly not short on potential opponents.

I suppose we’ll know more about his fighting future after Nov. 1.
