‘Bones’ Pleads No Contest In Strip Club Case

Earlier this year, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, was charged with misdemeanor battery following an alleged nightclub incident back in April. Indeed, “Bones” was accused by a cocktail waitress at a strip club in Albuquerque, New Mexico of slapping her vagina, putting her in a choke hold and kissing her on her neck without her consent.

Of course, Team Jones denied everything, and the accuser went as far as to say that everyone was trying to protect the world champion given his celebrity status. Despite reports saying witness didn’t see anything out of the ordinary in Jon’s interaction with the accuser, the prosecutors proceeded to set a court date.

And earlier today (Tues. Oct. 15, 2019) Jon stood before a judge and pleaded no contest to the charges. From the ESPN report by Marc Raimondi:

Jones pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct in Bernalillo (New Mexico) County Metropolitan Court and received a 90-day deferred sentence, per court documents. During that period of time, Jones must avoid arrest or violating the law, consume no alcohol or drugs, be under unsupervised probation, not return to the scene and pay court fees.

With his latest legal hiccup behind him, Jon can once again solely focus on his professional life and combat career, which has seen him stay very busy over the last 10 months, winning three title fights during that span.

Jon did tease a fourth fight before the year ended, but that will no longer happen, as the remaining two pay-per-view (PPV) events are already set and ready to go (more on those here and here).
