KSW 51: Heavyweights Ante Delija, Denis Stojnic set to face off in Zagreb

A pair of Balkan heavyweight sluggers will go toe to toe inside the KSW cage when the Polish promotion hits Zagreb, Croatia on Nov. 9.

MMA Junkie has confirmed with KSW officials that former PFL and Rizin heavyweight Ante Delija of Croatia will take on surging Bosnian striker Denis Stojnic at KSW 51 at Arena Zagreb.

Delija (16-3) enters the bout with wins in each of his last two outings. He handed Brazilian Ricardo Prasel the first defeat of his MMA career at Rizin FF 10 in May 2018 before signing with the PFL for their 2019 heavyweight season.

He defeated Carl Seumanutafa at June’s PFL 3, but pulled out of his subsequent matchup with Francimar Barroso and eventually was released by the promotion. Now he’s all set to make his KSW debut against a former UFC veteran.

Stojnic (13-3) is riding a eight-fight undefeated streak and hasn’t lost a fight since his two back-to-back losses to Cain Velasquez and Stefan Struve in the UFC back in 2009.

The pair are set to square off in an all-Balkan heavyweight battle with both men knowing that an impressive victory could catapult the winner straight into contention to face current heavyweight champion Phil De Fries.

Confirmed fights for KSW 51 include:

  • Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Erko Jun
  • Borys Mankowski vs. Vaso Bakocevic
  • Antun Racic vs. Damian Stasiak – for inaugural bantamweight title
  • Aleksandar Ilic vs. Cezary Kesic
  • Krzysztof Klaczek vs. Filip Pejic
  • Darwin Rodriguez vs. Ivan Erslan
  • Roman Szymanski vs. Milos Janicic
  • Krystian Kaszubowski vs. Aleksandar Rakas
  • Ante Delija vs. Denis Stojnic
  • Sebastian Przybysz vs. Lemmy Krusic
