Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) may have just suffered an untimely, unfortunate and crushing blow. According to Nate Diaz, he will not be fighting at UFC 244 on Saturday Nov. 2, 2019 against Jorge Masvidal, as he has been informed that he has tested positive for elevated levels of some sort of banned substance.

The Stockton slugger took to social media to relay the news:

“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week becausee they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements. I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don’t even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is FUCKING with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not gonna play their game and try to hide it or keep quite, as they suggested. I’m not going to have my name tainted as a cheater like these other motherfuckers who keep quite until after the fight just so that they can get paid. Fucking cheaters. I don’t give a fuck about some money over my dignity and legacy. I’m not playing along with that bullshit. I’m not staying quite and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game I’ll see you when I see you. Sincerely, the realest baddest motherfucker in the game.”

Everybody’s on steroids.

Of course, United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) recently changed its policy so that results and suspensions would not be revealed until after the case was investigated and settled. Nate, though, is not playing that game, and took it upon himself to spill the beans in an attempt to prove his innocence.

Whether or not that info was meant to be revealed until after UFC 244 to allow Nate to compete, as he suggested, is interesting to say the least. Nevertheless, it seems Diaz won’t be flying out to New York City next week to face Masvidal for the “BMF” title, unless this is just one of the biggest troll jobs of 2019.

UFC has yet to make an official announcement regarding this developing situation. As always, keep it tuned to MMAMania as more details emerge.
