Jorge Masvidal says he’ll see Nate Diaz at UFC 244: ‘I don’t need USADA to tell me (expletive)’

Pandemonium hit the MMA world Thursday after Nate Diaz announced his potential withdrawal from UFC 244.

In a lengthy social media statement, Diaz (20-11 MMA, 18-10 UFC) indicated his highly anticipated Nov. 2 main event against Jorge Masvidal (34-13 MMA, 13-7 UFC) at New York’s Madison Square Garden is no longer happening. The Stockton, Calif. native pointed at the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and the UFC for the withdrawal and claimed “they” wanted him to stay quiet about the issue.

Approximately 40 minutes after Diaz sent his departure announcement into the Twittersphere, “Gambred” made an attempt to pump the breaks on any talk of the fight being cancelled. With or without USADA, Masvidal indicated he plans on fighting Diaz on Nov. 2.

Masvidal and Diaz were set to square off for the first (and likely only) “BMF” belt in UFC history. The card was one of the UFC’s marquee events of the year, with Masvidal and Diaz headlining the card. No comment from the UFC has been provided yet. The event is just ten days away.
