Is Platinum stronger than Steel?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to stack its UFC 245 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, recently adding the fan-friendly welterweight pairing between Mike Perry and Geoff Neal to the Dec. 14 line up in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s according to a report from ESPN.com.

Perry (13-5) is coming off his three-round war against Vicente Luque at UFC Fight Night 156 back in August. The split-decision loss dropped “Platinum” to 13-5 and the 28 year-old slugger has not won back-to-back fights since late 2017 across a span of six fights.

As for Neal (12-2), he’s been unstoppable since graduating Dana White’s “Contender Series” roughly two years back. “Handz of Steel” is the winner of six straight with five violent finishes and could find himself in the welterweight rankings with a big performance against Perry.

“Did y’all here what fight they added to UFC 245? Yours truly,” Perry wrote on Twitter. “Platinum Perry vs. Geoff Neal! I met Geoff at UFC Tampa recently. He seems like a nice guy. Maybe a little too nice. Like Papa Doc from 8 Mile, you know. Clarence whose parents have a real good marriage.”

UFC 245 will be headlined by the welterweight title fight pitting Kamaru Usman opposite Colby Covington. In the championship co-main event, Max Holloway puts his featherweight strap on the line against Alexander Volkanovski, while UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes rematches the venerable Germaine de Randamie.
