Walker Warns Jones: ‘Be Afraid’

I hope you didn’t think a little thing like a technical knockout loss to Corey Anderson was going to keep light heavyweight fan-favorite, Johnny Walker, from continuing his quest for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 205-pound title.

In fact, the Brazilian believes “Bones” needs to be looking over his shoulder regardless of whether or not they throw down in the immediate future, because the division is stacked with a bevy of hungry up-and-comers looking to make history at the champ’s expense.

“I’m disturbing him, for sure,” Walker told ESPN. “He knows I’m here. We’ll probably face each other in the near future. He has a lot to lose. He’s never been defeated. He better be afraid, not only of me, but of every top guy out there. He has everything to lose.”

Before Walker can attempt to pull the sword from the proverbial stone, Dominick Reyes will get his crack at the crown in the UFC 247 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for Sat., Feb. 8, 2020 inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas (more on that here).

As for Walker (17-4), he slipped to No. 11 in the official rankings after failing to work “Overtime.” No question the promotion still has high hopes for the Brazilian, who is 3-1 inside the Octagon with three violent finishes, including this stunning, first-round knockout.
