So much for that fake-ass respect.

I’m sure some mixed martial arts (MMA) fans will slam Dominick Reyes for his arrogance, but honestly, how else do you approach a fight against UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, widely considered one of the best cage fighters of all time?

Reyes will face off against “Bones” in the UFC 247 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, recently made official for Sat., Feb. 8, 2020 from inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Sadly, the sportsbooks do not share his championship optimism.

“I’m already planning the rematch in Cowboy Stadium,” Reyes told MMA Fighting. “That’s already in the works. I already know what’s going to happen. I’m going to beat him, it’s not going to be enough. Perfect, let’s do it in Cowboy Stadium — except this time it’s my pay-per-view.”

While Reyes (12-0) is certainly deserving of a 205-pound title shot, one of the knocks against his ascension is how it skirted some of the bigger names in the division. “The Devastator” does not hold a victory over anyone currently ranked in the Top 5.

As for Jones (25-1, 1 NC), he appears to be in cruise control after his triumphant comeback in late 2018, which resulted in the destruction of Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. Since then, “Bones” has captured ho-hum decision wins over Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos.

Anyone taking Reyes in the (massive) upset?
