Chan Sung Jung will take on Frankie Edgar in the main event of UFC Fight Night 165 (UFC on ESPN+ 23) this Saturday night (Dec. 21, 2019) in Busan, South Korea. The revamped Featherweight bout came to be after Brian Ortega — “Korean Zombie’s” original foe —- was forced out with a partial ACL tear (details here and here).

Edgar and Jung were originally set to face off in the main event of UFC Fight Night 139 last November before Frankie was forced out of the matchup with an injury.

Before the two scrappy 145 pounders duke it out in the center of the Octagon, let’s take a look back at one of Jung’s most memorable performances. Back in February of 2017, “The Korean Zombie” found himself locked inside the UFC cage for the first time in a long time after a four-year break to serve his mandated military duties for his home country of Korea.

He was also mending injuries during his extended hiatus.

Two minutes in, Jung found a good opening and clipped Bermudez with clean uppercut that dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Being one of the best finishers in the game, “The Korean Zombie” pounced on his fallen foe to deliver the final strikes.

Now, Jung will look for another impressive showing against “The Answer” in his homeland in an attempt to impress the powers that be to give him another crack at the 145 pound title, which is now in the hands of a new champion.
