Chan Sung Jung may have scored one of the biggest wins of his career when he decimated Frankie Edgar via first-round TKO earlier this morning (Sat., Dec. 21, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 165 live on ESPN+ from inside Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea, but “Korean Zombie” didn’t walk away a complete winner.

Jung, who fought Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title back in 2013, has become one of the most entertaining fighters in all of MMA since making his promotion debut nearly nine years ago. His 6-2 record in UFC competition is nothing spectacular, but during that time Jung has produced a knockout finish over Edgar, a submission finish over Dustin Poirier, a seven-second knockout finish over Mark Hominick, and a legendary twister submission finish over Leonard Garcia. Not to mention first-round stoppages over former featherweight contenders Renato Moicano and Dennis Bermudez.

Jung’s destruction over Edgar at UFC Busan has helped fans realize just how good he has been and can be moving forward, but “Korean Zombie” will have to heal up his impaired vision before cashing in on his growing notoriety in 2020.
