Video: UFC’s ‘Decade in Review’ Looks Back At 2016

In the latest installment of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) “Decade in Review” series, the promotion highlights some of the most electrifying moments that took place inside the Octagon back in 2016. And there were plenty to choose from.

Of course, the year was highlighted by a big Welterweight showdown between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, which took place at UFC 196 in March. After a back-and-forth first round, Nate eventually choked out “Notorious” in round two, giving him his first-ever loss inside the Octagon. Of course, five months later the two men rematched at UFC 202 and Conor got his sweet revenge via unanimous decision.

Also that year, Michael Bisping realized his dream of becoming a UFC champion by knocking out Luke Rockhold in the very first round at UFC 199 in a fight “The Count” took on super-short notice. Also, UFC staged UFC 200 that year, which saw Amanda Nunes claim her first-ever UFC title by choking out Miesha Tate to win the women’s Bantamweight title. Plus, Max Holloway won the interim Featherweight title after defeating Anthony Pettis.

And of course, it was a historic year for the promotion and McGregor, as Conor became the promotion’s first-ever champ-champ by knocking out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. Eventually, Conor would be stripped of both titles later on.
