[Official] Regional Rundown – January 2020 Edition – John Gotti III

Gotti.

The name does not conjure images of caged octagons, 4 ounce gloves, ring girls, and cheering crowds… and yet, that is what we get with the third of that infamous name.

Coming from a amateur career at 4-1 with 2 wins by knockout, John Gotti III (JG3) is currently riding a 4-0 pro record at welterweight, with all wins by way of KO or TKO. Without a doubt, he is one of CES MMAs top stars.

Starting his pro career at CES 46, he won against the unfortunately named Johnny “The Wild Child” Adams, another MMA freshman who was 0-1 in his pro career. Gotti III won via TKO at 3:50 in R1, marking the start of his as yet, undefeated, career. Adams has gone on to 1-3 in his 4 fights following his bout with JG3.

His next opponent was Eddie “The Sledgehammer” Haws, who he put away in :32 in R1 via TKO; the fight taking place at CES NY 1. Currently, this fight stands as Haws’ last MMA fight.

Next up for JG3 was Josh “Sugarman” Zuckerman, at CES 53, a 0-3 pro fighter. JG3 would win this fight even faster than his previous by way of KO at :28 of R1. Zuckerman went on to lose his next fight and he has yet to have another fight scheduled.

The most recent fight for JG3 was at CES 56 where he fought David Espino, who was sporting a 3-2 record going into this fight. This marks the first pro fight in which JG3 fought another winning fighter. Predictcably, this one ended at 1:36 in R1 via KO for JG3, marking his 4th straight pro win and 4th straight by stoppage.

Taking place at CES 60, up next for JG3 is Marcos “El Lobo” Lloreda’ a 7-5 fighter who has won his last 4 of 5 fights. This is a rescheduled fight after injury forced JG3 out of the last bout. This should prove to be a good test for JG3 who is definitely coming into his own.

I am not Nostradamus, but I predict another first round KO for JG3. …and if all signs point accurately, this may be Lloreda’s final fight. Time will tell. The fact that he is taking his time in the regionals and not using his family name or ties to move his career along is commendable.
