Where’s Hendo when you need him?

Ronaldo Souza hasn’t given up on the middleweight title just yet.

That’s why “Jacare” is returning to 185 pounds to battle striking sensation Uriah Hall at the upcoming UFC 249 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., April 18, 2020 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

So whatever happened to that career at light heavyweight?

“‘Jacare’ will continue fighting in both divisions,” head coach Josuel Distak told MMA Fighting. “He will do special fights at 205, and go after the belt at 185. We still dream about fighting for the Ultimate Fighting belt. ‘Jacare’ still has that dream, and it’s hard to stop someone that has a dream. That’s our goal, to fight in both divisions. Wherever the exciting fights are, that’s where we’re going.”

Sounds like Team Souza can’t make up its mind.

The only downside to this plan comes in the form of his age (40) and his recent record (1-3). “Jacare” remains one of the most dangerous grapplers in the sport, but prefers to stand and bang against some of the division’s elite.

If and when they strategy changes against “Prime Time” remains to be seen.
