Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon on Jan. 18, 2020 to face Donald Cerrone in a Welterweight matchup in the main event of UFC 246 in Las Vegas, Nevada, only on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV).

Speaking of which, in Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) latest free fight video, the promotion takes us back to UFC 205 in New York City, site of where McGregor made history by becoming the company’s first ever champ-champ.

Indeed, McGregor challenged then-155 pound king, Eddie Alvarez and it didn’t take long for the Irishman to start popping off the offense, knocking down “The Underground King” a minute into the fight with two clean short left hands. And that was just what Conor needed to get his rhythm going and set the tone for the rest of the bout, as he knocked Eddie down twice more.

In the second round, though, is when “Notorious” really put it on Eddie, tagging him at will before connecting with a clean four-punch combination and ending the fight with some ground-and-pound. After his historic win, Conor when on a hiatus and took part in a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather before returning to the cage against Khabib.

Now, McGregor will look to score his first win inside the eight-sided cage in over three years when he faces one of the most-experienced fighters in the game today. And it’s pretty much a must-win for Conor, who not only has a Lightweight title fight riding on a victory, but the rest of his plans — which includes a potential fight against Jorge Masvidal — could come crumbling down in defeat.
