UFC 246 free fight: Donald Cerrone submits Mike Perry

Donald Cerrone has amassed so many notable victories over the span of his pro MMA career, it’s sometimes hard to keep track.

One general vibe that has become unforgettable, however, is Cerrone’s ability to come back time and time again. This was put on full display in November 2018 at UFC Fight Night 139 in Denver.

Leading into a welterweight bout against Mike Perry, “Cowboy” had dropped four of his five previous outings, but he was able to prove the oddsmakers wrong. A slight underdog, Cerrone needed less than a round to submit Perry by armbar in 4:46.

The victory kicked off a three-fight win streak for Cerrone, who would then go on to drop back-to-back fights against Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.

This all leads up to Cerrone’s upcoming fight, which is likely his biggest to date. On Jan. 18, Cerrone squares off with former UFC double champ Conor McGregor in a five-round welterweight fight.

McGregor has not competed since October 2018, when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

The fight headlines UFC 246, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will stream on pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
