Dana White Offers Best Buy Brawler A Job

Summer Tapasa-Sataraka was fired for throwing fists with a shoplifter, but is now getting a trip to UFC 246 and job offer from the promotion.

UFC president Dana White spends more time than you’d expect screwing around on social media, and he’s doing more than just roasting pimply teenagers that dare to question the quality of his fight cards. Recently he came across Instagram footage of Russian slap fighting tournaments and immediately started planning to bring the rather unique sport to UFC Fight Pass. And now he’s apparently scouting for employees via fistfight videos as well.

Hawaiian Best Buy employee Summer Tapasa-Sataraka became an unlikely viral sensation when security camera footage of her throwing down with an alleged shoplifter hit the internet. The incident resulted in her losing her job — although she made it clear in a Hawaii News Now article that she was planning to quit anyway.

“I could hear my manager in the back of me saying, ‘Let him go, Summer. It’s okay, let him go. Let him go,’” recalled Tapasa. “They would rather let an item go than us risking our lives, and I totally understand that. I appreciate that.”

The Salt Lake woman said she would have been fired for violating the company’s policy, but she had already put in her notice to resign because she wanted to focus on her other job.

Regardless, Dana White found the electronics company’s no tolerance policy towards confronting scumbags to be unjust. So he decided to reward Tapasa-Sataraka with an all expenses paid trip to UFC 246 and a job offer.

”This is Summer,” White wrote in a tweet alongside video of the incident. “She stopped this punk from getting away with stealing from Best Buy in Hawaii. She got fired for this. Flying her in this weekend and giving her tickets to the McGregor vs Cowboy fight. I WANT HER TO WORK FOR ME! Get ready for the best weekend of your life Summer.”
