Felice Herrig alleges being punched in face after UFC 246, details altercation on Las Vegas streets

Felice Herrig is known for her fighting abilities inside the cage.

However, according to UFC women’s strawweight contender Herrig (14-8 MMA, 5-3 UFC), she utilized her skills on the streets Saturday night.

After attending UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, she was allegedly punched in the face by another female. According to Herrig, the altercation began when the other woman bent over in the street to pick up a penny. Herrig made a comment, and that’s when things got ugly, she said.

“Just so we all know, I’m innocent,” Herrig said in a video posted to her Instagram story. “So, a girl stopped in the middle of traffic in (expletive) Vegas. I was like, ‘What the (expletive)?’ It was for a penny. Then, I was giving her (expletive) over it. I’m like, ‘It’s just a penny.’ Then, she got all mad, and then she got all up in my face.”

“I was like, ‘You should probably punch me if you want to,’ and she (expletive) did punch me. Then, I punched her back twice-ish. She gave me a bloody nose and I never bleed my own blood. I was very upset.”

“Now, she’s milking a black eye,” Herrig’s friend chimed in.

Herrig said she attempted to get the attention of “Vegas security,” but they never showed up. The longtime MMA veteran said she feared using her physical skills would result in serious damage on the other woman.

“I was waiting for Vegas security to come and rescue us – and they never did,” Herrig said. “Well, it was (expletive). I was like, ‘Uh, well, I don’t want to be too violent and hurt her too bad because then I’ll get in trouble. Security, come break this up.’ They never did, so that kind of sucked.”

Herrig indicated she walked away from the altercation relatively unscathed, though the assailant did bloody Herrig’s nose – which she posted an image of on Instagram on Saturday night.

“My beautiful hair is still intact,” Herrig said. I was desperately trying to save that and my knee. I didn’t want her to (expletive) with my knee, so I did what I needed to do to nullify the situation. I punched her in the face a few times. I made her run away like a little (expletive). She didn’t want none of this.”
