Former UFC title challenger Darren Till won’t see action on home soil in March.
With a main event between Tyron Woodley and Leon Edwards already official for UFC on ESPN+ 29 in London, it seemed possible the middleweight contender Till (18-2-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) would not be scheduled to fight on the card.
For anyone holding out hope he may be a late addition, though, Till has ended the speculation with a confirmation on social media he’s not been booked (via Instagram):
With the Brit not fighting in London, Till being placed on the UFC 248 card in Las Vegas in March seemed like the obvious direction. UFC president Dana White recently said that was the plan, but claimed Till suffered an ankle injury that has delayed his next bout.
Till did not comment on White’s claim of an injury, but did say he’s working hard in the gym and helping prepare teammates who do have fights coming up at UFC on ESPN+ 29.
“Even though I won’t be fighting I’m still here giving the lads 100 percent and supporting them 100 percent,” Till said.
