James Gallagher ruled out of Bellator Europe 7, Leah McCourt steps up for first Bellator headliner

The fight card for Bellator Europe 7 has taken a hit with the news that Irish bantamweight star James Gallagher is out of the event due to an undisclosed injury.

Bellator officials confirmed to MMA Junkie that Gallagher will not compete at the event, which takes place at 3Arena in Dublin on Feb. 22. No replacement will be sought, which means his scheduled main event opponent, Cal Ellenor, will also be taken off the card and rebooked for a future event.

The change means the card now has a new main event. Women’s featherweight Leah McCourt (3-1 MMA, 2-0 BMMA), from Northern Ireland, is set to take center stage for her first Bellator headliner against Germany’s Judith Ruis (6-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).
