[Official] Regional Rundown – February 2020 Edition – Jack Della Maddalena
This month we have Jack Della Maddalena, fighting out of Perth, Western Australia!
Boasting a record of 7-2, coming by way of five knockouts, one submission, and one doctor stoppage, he is currently on a 7 fight streak of finishes after dropping his first two. He is the tenth ranked welterweight out of Australia & New Zealand. Over three years, he would amass this streak and capture the Eternal MMA Welterweight Championship over opponents with a combined record of 20-4.
2016
Early in the year, Jack would have two fights, Aldin Bates and Darcy Vendy, in the span of 2 months. Unfortunately, he would lose both of these efforts by TKO and submission respectively. After this, he would bounce back later in the year with a KO victory over Brandt Cogill.
2017
Beginning in early April, Jacky boy would start things out quickly with a TKO of Glen Pettigrew in the first round, securing him the Reign MMA Welterweight title. Allowing his body time to heal, he would fight in three month intervals throughout the remainder of the year, scoring a second round knockout of Eternal MMA Champion Ty Duncan in July, and defending his title with a second round submission of James Duckett in October. This would mark his first victory by submission professionally. He would end the year as welterweight champion for both Reign MMA and Eternal MMA.
2018
Coming into the year with a positive record of 3-2, the money didn’t stop there. Handsome Jack would defend his title twice in 2018 with a knockout of Luke Howard in the second, while handing 4-0 Dean Abramo his first professional loss by the way of TKO in the first.
2019
In 2019, was scheduled to rematch Glen Pettigrew, however Pettigrew pulled out at the last minute and be replaced by Kevin Jousset. Maddalena would win by doctor stoppage at the end of the second round. This would be his only fight of the year.
2020
Jack Della Maddalena is now scheduled to defend his title against Glen Pettigrew, whom had previously pulled out of the scheduled bout. Pettigrew has an amassed a four fight win-streak since they last met. The bout will take place Eternal MMA 51, February 29th via Fight Pass. Della’s distinct ability to smell blood in the water and swarm has led to every single of his finishes. Will it be more of the same later this month?
