In October of last year, Joanna went toe-to-toe with Michelle Waterson at UFC Fight Night 161. Coming into the fight, Waterson was on a role, winning three straight fights and was seemingly one more win away from a title shot.

Unfortunately, “Karate Hottie’s” championship fight dreams were dashed, as Jedrzejczyk got the best of her on the feet for over 25 minutes to walk away with a unanimous decision victory. Thought it wasn’t a walk in the park by any means, as Waterson came to fight, nearly sinking in a rear-naked choke in round number three.

It was a much-needed win for Jedrzejczyk, as she was just 1-3 in her last four outings, including going 0-3 in title fights. Now, “JJ” will attempt to end Zhang’s reign before it picks up any steam in “Sin City.”

UFC 248 — streaming on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend — is set to be headlined by a Middleweight title fight as division champion, Israel Adesanya, takes on Yoel Romero.
