UFC Veteran Tapped To Headline Bellator 243 On May 29

Carmouche vs. Bohm | Bellator MMA

Bellator 243 is set for Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif., on May 29, 2020, featuring the promotional debut of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran, Liz Carmouche (13-7), taking on Mandy Bohm in a women’s Flyweight main event that will stream on DAZN (and Paramount Network).

Carmouche had a hot start to her career in the early 2010’s, going undefeated (6-0) against Jan Finney and Valentina Shevchenko, among others, en route to becoming a staple of the Strikeforce promotion. After losing a world title fight against Marloes Coenen there, Carmouche would go on to find success in Invicta FC, with her two wins there earning her another Bantamweight title bout, this time against UFC star Ronda Rousey.

Things didn’t go her way against “Rowdy” at UFC 157, but during her stint in the promotion she notched career wins over Katlyn Chookagian, Jennifer Maia and Lauren Murphy among others. She’ll try to repeat that success against Bohm, a prospect from Germany paying her dues under John Kavanagh at SBG Ireland in Dublin.

At this early date no other bouts for Bellator 243 have been announced. But, keep it locked to MMAmania.com for the latest updates.
