Before then, let’s take a look back at Lee’s most recent win, which happened last November at UFC 244. Coming into his fight against Gregor Gillespie, “The Motown Phenom” was in quite a funk, having lost two straight and three of his last four. To make matters worse, he was facing an undefeated wrestling standout who at the time had won 13 straight fights, including his first six inside the Octagon.

So if you were betting on Lee leaving Madison Square Garden with a third straight loss, most people wouldn’t call you crazy. Lee, however, obviously had his own plans.

For the first couple of minutes, Lee and Gillespie were busy jabbing each other up, trading strikes to the point where their faces were both started to get busted up. But halfway through the opening frame, Lee clipped Gregor with an overhand right which forced his momentum to go downward. Instinctively, Lee threw perfect left high kick as a follow up that tagged “The Gift” right on the kisser, sending him to the canvas out cold.

And just like that, Lee was once again back in the win column and $50,000 richer. Now, “The Motown Phenom” will look to end Oliveira’s six fight win streak, which will be easier said than done as “Do Bronx” has been on a tear for the last two years.
