Latest Odds, Betting Guide For UFC ‘Brasilia’

Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC Fight Night 170, which is set to hit Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, this Saturday (March 14, 2020), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!

Before Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson meet to determine undisputed Lightweight supremacy, two elite contenders will meet in Brasilia this Saturday in a clash of world-class grapplers with a recent taste for knockouts.

The main event sees Kevin Lee look to reassert his place among the division’s A-list against the surging Charles Oliveira, while Demian Maia attempts to build off of his victory over Ben Askren against fellow jiu-jitsu ace Gilbert Burns. Other highlights include Renato Moicano’s Lightweight debut and Johnny Walker vs. Nikita Krylov.

Brazilian shows tend to produce violence; let’s see if we can’t produce profit, too.

Thoughts: I get the sense that casting a wide net may work to our benefit this week. David Dvorak is the best underdog on the card, but there’s value in Aleksei Kunchenko and Maryna Moroz as well.

Dvorak is a beastly boxer, equally adept with his high-speed combinations as he is with his lethal counter right. To make matters worse for debut foe Bruno Silva, “Killa Khroust’s” takedown defense looks sufficient to keep it on the feet, where the latter has a considerable edge in punching power. Dvorak’s 13-fight win streak will continue with an impressive finish, so be sure you’re in position to benefit.

Moroz isn’t someone to put a lot of money on, but she’s worth a look, if only because of how little we’ve seen of Silva. “Sheetara” hasn’t fought since 2018 and, as potent as her submissions looked against Gillian Robertson, the fact that “The Savage” initiated the majority of the grappling left Silva’s ability to overpower an unwilling grappler a question mark. Moroz is by far the more experienced of the two and looks to have a striking edge, so a bit on her makes sense.

As lethal as Elizeu Zaleski is, his boxing issues finally came to a head against Li Jingliang last time out. Kunchenko — a dangerous and compact puncher — presents a serious threat, especially compounded with the takedown prowess that’s historically bedeviled the Brazilian. Without strong takedowns of his own to keep “Wolverine” honest, I see Zaleski struggling against a superior technician.

Thoughts: I think a pittance on Oliveira for the upset seems wise, as does a sum on Francisco Trinaldo.

I won’t pretend that Oliveira’s current run was a Murderer’s Row — the strongest among them was David Teymur, and “Do Bronx” had more trouble than expected against a mid-tier scrapper in Christos Giagos. At the same time, his recently developed power-punching and ability to fight through adversity are hard to ignore, especially against a fighter in Lee who’s been rocked in the past and faded down the stretch. Lee’s wrestling is a potent force, but Oliveira’s newfound prowess on the feet, combined with his killer guillotine, make him a decent underdog play.

Trinaldo just looks to be a major problem for Makdessi. Despite being in his 40s, he should be on a three-fight win streak and certainly proved that he’s got something left in the tank against Bobby Green. His combination of physicality, heavy pressure and decent wrestling will make it mighty difficult for “The Bull” to get his kicking offense going. If there’s an underdog you’re not comfortable investing heavily in, add “Massaranduba” to the mix.
