Renato Moicano was mad about no fans being at UFC Brasilia, so he took it out on Damir Hadzovic

Renato Moicano needed just 44 seconds to submit Damir Hadzovic at UFC on ESPN+ 28 before a bizarre sequence of events took place.

Before we continue, keep in mind that Saturday’s card took place at Ginasio Nilson Nelson in Moicano’s hometown of Brasilia, Brazil, but there weren’t any fans in attendance because of a local ban on large public gatherings due to the cornavirus pandemic.

OK, so after the finish, Moicano immediate stood over Hadzovic and got in his face, which isn’t a cool thing to do after you just choked somebody out. But Moicano did, and we all wondered why.

This exchange between the two men shed some light (and is hilarious):

But then we got this explanation, as well, during Moicano’s post-fight interview with Michael Bisping.

“I’m sorry. I’m very frustrated, because today I fought in my hometown, and I don’t see nobody,” Moicano said. “I didn’t see familiar faces. I didn’t see my family over here. And I want to say: My son (was) born. Now I’m a daddy. I love my wife. I have to say everyday she’s the best person I know, and now she carries my kid, my son, and I want to dedicate this victory to him. His name is Isaac, like the son of God. Thank you, Jesus.

“But I want to fight the best, you know. I am a top seven (fighter), and the people don’t recognize me. People don’t give me the respect. I want to fight Paul Felder.”

Well, all right then.

We guess the post-fight raging was part frustration about not fighting long enough and part frustration about not having an audience? Either way, it confused us – and apparently Bisping, who asked the (non-existent) crowd to make some noise for Moicano.
