Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, claims he won’t be waiting around for Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson to settle their long-standing score at UFC 249 and will instead risk his 155-pound title shot against an opponent to be named.

Like Justin Gaethje, for example.

While manager Ali Abdelaziz insists “The Highlight” is not going to waste his time with a contender like “Notorious,” rumors continue to swirl that put McGregor vs. Gaethje atop a UFC pay-per-view (PPV) this summer.

And the bookies have already pegged McGregor as the odds-on favorite at -180 (5/9) against +155 for Gaethje (31/20). That’s according to BetOnline, though you can expect those numbers to fluctuate as money starts pouring in on both sides.

McGregor last competed back in January, returning to the Octagon to pick up his first win since 2016 by plastering Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds. Gaethje also knocked out Cerrone in his most recent performance, stopping the veteran “Cowboy” inside the first round last September.

So … are you laying money on McGregor or Gaethje?
