Even if you’re not a fan of boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr., either personally or professionally, it’s hard to not feel bad for the undefeated pugilist after “Money” suffered two consecutive personal tragedies in 2020.

First, Mayweather lost the mother of his three children, Josie Harris, after the 40 year-old was found dead in her car back on March 10. A few days later, Mayweather’s uncle and longtime trainer, Roger Mayweather, succumbed to illness at age 58.

Those two losses were enough to prompt Mayweather to sit out for the rest of 2020, according to TMZ Sports, which means no comeback for the “sweet science” and no collaboration with UFC President Dana White.

I’m sure the coronavirus also had something to do with his decision, as most of the country has been shut down in response to the pandemic. That said, Mayweather turned 43 just last month, so time is definitely not on his side.
