Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, is worried that coronavirus pandemic will drag on long enough to send him into retirement, which is not unreasonable when you consider that “DC” turned 41 just last month.

But even if the world wasn’t being locked down to help flatten the curve, it’s unlikely Cormier would be getting his Stipe Miocic rubber match. That’s because the current 265-pound kingpin is dealing with “weird” vision problems that are like “a fly flying by.”

”I’m taking my time to get back and see how it works,” Miocic told ESPN. “See how the eye feels. [The doctor said] ‘you look good, take your time getting back, don’t be stupid.’ Right now my fight is with the coronavirus. Once this is over with and get back a normal life, then we’ll worry about it.”

Unfortunately for mixed martial arts (MMA) fans, there’s more to Miocic’s return than just a Cormier trilogy, as Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik are going to collide at some point over the next few weeks (according to Dana White).

That means the winner, who will be next in line for a division title shot, will have to wait for Miocic to defend his title against Cormier, which is unlikely to happen before summer. I guess all anyone can do at this point is wait and see.
