Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president, Dana White, has yet to spill the beans regarding the top-secret location of UFC 249, which is set to go down on April 18, 2020. He did however, drop a bit of a nugget during a recent conversation with TMZ.

According to the outspoken head honcho of the biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization on the planet, he is close to securing a private island to stage fights for all of his international fighters.

Yes, really.

“I am a day or two away from securing a private island. I have a private island that I have secured,” he said. “We are getting the infrastructure put in now, so I am going to start doing the international fights, too, with international fighters.”

According to White, since travel restrictions across the globe have made it difficult for anyone to travel — Khabib Nurmagomedov included — his private island will allow him to transport his a fighters via, what else, private planes.

“I won’t be able to get all of the international fighters into the US, so I have a private island that I am going to start flying them into to do them there. So as of April 18, UFC is back up and running,” he added. “We have all of our own planes and everything that are going to fly into the island and get the fighters.”

When you have the financial backing of ESPN and Endeavor, anything is possible.

Furthermore, White said that everyone involved in the events from fighters, staff, judges and members of athletic commissions will be tested before, during and after the events for coronavirus.

Back to UFC 249 — which now features an interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje — White said it will be home to all UFC events for the next two months. And since the promotion was forced to postpone a couple of events, he will make up for it by staging a fight card every week for the foreseeable future.

“So I locked this venue up for two months. I have this venue for two months and I am setting up shop here. We are going to be pumping out fights every week.”

Go big or go home.
