Frankie Edgar offers to replace Jose Aldo at UFC 250; Henry Cejudo replies to ‘Wrong Answer’

If Jose Aldo can’t enter the U.S. to fight at UFC 250 next month, Henry Cejudo appears to have more than one replacement suitor.

After Cejudo, the UFC bantamweight champion, went back-and-forth with Dominick Cruz earlier this week, Frankie Edgar has joined the fray to offer up his services for yet another UFC title fight.

Edgar, the former lightweight titleholder who has been planning to drop from featherweight to make his 135-pound debut this year, challenged Cejudo on Twitter on Wednesday.

Hey @HenryCejudo if Aldo can’t make it to the show you know I’m game. I ain’t bending any knees but I might put my foot in your ass.

Cejudo naturally was quick to bite back at Edgar. He appeared to be quite excited about the possibility and teased Cruz as another name in the running (via Instagram).

Well, well, well look who we have here! Frankie “The wrong answer” Edgar. The only foot thats going up someone’s ass is my foot in yours. You saw what I did to your training partner 💀 you could be next to Bend The Knee to King Triple C! You have competition sunshine @dominickcruz ❤ #Goatkilling

The possibility of any of this happening is, of course, contingent on Aldo. There is much uncertainty around the UFC 250 headliner on May 9 due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The event originally was scheduled to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but has unofficially been moved to Tachi Palace Casino Resort just outside of Lemoore, Calif., which is also reported to host UFC 249 on April 18.

If Aldo is unable to travel from Brazil to the U.S. due to travel restrictions caused by the pandemic, Cejudo will need a new opponent. But is Edgar the right or wrong answer?
