President Donald Trump recently announced the creation of a large group of advisors that will help him lead the way in reopening the country and to kick-start the struggling U.S. economy due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a recent new conference, Trump revealed he has recruited WWE head cheese Vince McMahon, NBA commissioner Adam Silver, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and UFC president Dana White, as part of a large group of advisors that will help Trump come up with ways to best restart the economy.

It’s no secret White has a good relationship with White and McMahon, as well as Robert Kraft, owner of the NFL’s New England Patriots, who will also be part of the group alongside Marc Cuban, owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

Before you blast the decision to recruit all of the heads of the major sports organizations in the world to advise him on how to re-open the country, Trump explained the importance sports plays not only in the economy, but in people’s every day life.

“We want to get our sports back so importantly,” Trump said via Masslife. “We have to get our sports back. I’m tired of watching baseball games that are 14 years old,” he said. “But I haven’t actually had too much time to watch. I would say maybe I watch one batter and then I get back to work.”

Rounding out the group will be NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, as well as executives from the PGA and Nascar. Of course, that is just a small section of a much larger group, which will also be made up of worldwide leaders and experts in economics, healthcare and technology, among others.

President Trump is targeting a date of May 1 to reopen the country, which has been shut down for over a month now due to the deadly coronavirus sweeping the globe. The NBA was the first sports organization to shut down once the virus starting spreading, with others following suit soon thereafter.

UFC hasn’t been able to stage an event since March 14 in Brazilia, Brazil, and has since postponed six events, including UFC 249, which was set to go down on April 18, 2020. That being said, Dana White is gunning for a return to action on May 9, and he plans on bringing a stacked card with him (details here).
