Sinead O’Connor Bashes ‘Racist’ Conor McGregor

Seems like just yesterday when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) multi-weight striking sensation Conor McGregor was collaborating with Grammy award-winning singer Sinead O’Connor on walkout music for the UFC 189 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas.

Sigh … good times.

These days, the outspoken Dubliners are sparring on social media over “Notorious” tweets that according to O’Connor, make McGregor sound like a “racist slave owner.” Apparently the 53 year-old songwriter has a problem with the former lightweight champion’s handling of the coronavirus movement, as well as his resistance to breaking “the chains of all command.”

“Are you on something? Because you sound like a slave owner more with each passing year,” O’Connor wrote. “I mean, I love you and all, but like, what the fuck racist shit you been swallowing? Where has the real Conor gone? Because I know your mama didn’t raise you to be any kind of racist. I mean for fuck sake like, the chains of all command?”

McGregor was referring to the farming and agriculture industries in Ireland, which as of this moment are in dire need of laborers. One side of the movement is calling for personnel to be flown in, while “Notorious” argues that local workers should be employed to limit the risk of exposure.

“Nothing whatsoever to do with immigrants,” McGregor fired back. “At this time it is crazy to even suggest anything other than essential medical equipment/personnel be flown in. Everything else must be halted. Even food. We have food here. We must shut shop Sinead. For now, not forever.”

McGregor, 31, has been using his influence to mock Khabib Nurmagomedov pressure local politicians to keep the country locked down to help combat the spread of coronavirus, which has already infected 12,547 and killed 444 Irish citizens.
