UFC Fight Pass Originals launch includes animated retelling of Nick Diaz-Joe Riggs hospital clash

If you’re still killing time in quarantine, UFC Fight Pass has at least19 minutes of your day covered.

The UFC’s online streaming platform today debuted two new UFC Fight Pass Originals series: “Fightlore,” which promises to chronicle “the fables, legends, and untold stories from combat sports and martial arts,” as well as “Year of the Fighter,” which “recounts the seminal 12-month span for UFC’s greatest athletes.”

The latter debuts with a 12-month chronicling of current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in his run from octagon newcomer to UFC titleholder. But it’s the former you’re going to want to tune into today.

Check out the description of the first episode of “Fightlore,” courtesy of UFC Fight Pass:

Fightlore: ER Brawl – Nick Diaz vs. Joe Riggs

Security to the ER! Hear the real story of how Nick Diaz and Joe Riggs continues their fight with another round inside a hospital.

Newcomers to the sport will undoubtedly enjoy the retelling of one of the craziest stories in MMA history, the infamous 2006 hospital brawl between Nick Diaz and Joe Riggs, which followed their three-round clash at UFC 57. However, even hardcores will find at least one new detail of the story from Riggs – and not a particularly flattering one, either.

Additional UFC Fight Pass Originals set to debut next week include “Knockouts Only,” “UFC Watch Party” and “UFC Fight Physics.”

“UFC Chronicles” debuts later this year.

According to UFC officials, new episodes of all the UFC Fight Pass Originals series “will premier strategically leading up to live events on UFC Fight Pass.”
