McGregor Explains How He Resurrected UFC Career

Conor McGregor has a long way to go to prove he is a changed man outside of the cage, but the former UFC champion is well on his way.

Before McGregor made his return to the Octagon this past January to finish Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds at UFC 246 (highlights HERE), the Irish superstar encountered major issues outside of the cage for the better part of two years. Luckily, “Notorious” was able to avoid serious punishment and jail time.

With millions of dollars at his disposal and international notoriety that most of us would crumble under, McGregor is doing his best to keep his head on straight and return to dominance in the sport of MMA (and life). After all, McGregor has only managed to compete just twice inside the Octagon since he defeated Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title back at UFC 205 in 2016.

McGregor has been able to right the ship over the past six months and his hard work is beginning to pay off. The former UFC champion was recently featured on the front cover of “Fighters Only” magazine and eventually took to social media to discuss his personal evolution.

“I ordered all of my powers back to me and that order was followed. It is never to late to summon our powers and advance to higher ground. Never, ever too late! Whatever stage we are at. Re dedication = Results!” wrote McGregor via Intagram.

The first photo in McGregor’s post, which shows the UFC superstar being ushered out of a New York jailhouse, stems from his Brooklyn bus attack on rival Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 223 in 2018. It was yet another instance over the past two years in which “Notorious” willingly put himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Luckily for McGregor fans across the world, the Irish superstar is back on course and eager to return to action once UFC opens back up. In the meantime, “Notorious” will continue to assist his home country of Ireland as it deals with the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
