Ray Borg vs. Ricky Simon slated for May 13 UFC event

The UFC has added a bantamweight matchup to its May 13 event.

Ray Borg and Ricky Simon are set to collide at a rare Wednesday UFC event. The event is the second of three being held in eight days at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie after an initial report from The Sports Daily. Both fighters also mentioned the bout on social media.

Borg (13-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has gone 2-1 since returning from a 17-month layoff which saw six straight bouts get canceled. In his most recent fight, Borg defeated Gabriel Silva by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 25 in February. A fighter who has battled his share of weight-cut mishaps, Borg once again missed the mark on the scales – but at flyweight.

As for Simon (15-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC), the 27-year-old fighter enters the bout on a two-fight losing skid. After winning his first three UFC appearances, Simon dropped back-to-back outings against Urijah Faber in July and Rob Font in December.

The May 13 card is expected to air on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.

With the addition, the current UFC lineup for May 13 includes:

  • Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira
  • Ben Rothwell vs. Ovince Saint Preux
  • Karl Roberson vs. Marvin Vettori
  • Andrei Arlovski vs. Philipe Lins
  • Sijara Eubanks vs. Sarah Moras
  • Drew Dober vs. Alexander Hernandez
  • Ray Borg vs. Ricky Simon
