Bellator’s ‘The Dose’: Yaroslav Amosov, Bellator 242, plus a message from Scott Coker

In the second episode of Bellator’s YouTube magazine show, “The Dose,” Jay Glazer and Robin Black take a look back at some of the standout performers from the promotion’s recent events and gaze ahead to what’s coming down the track for the promotion post-COVID-19.

The pair wax lyrical about the legitimacy of Ukrainian welterweight contender Yaroslav Amosov following his victory over Ed Ruth at Bellator 239, and they run the rule over Leah McCourt’s main event win over Judith Ruis at Bellator Europe 7 in Dublin.

The duo then throw things forward to what’s set to take place once the coronavirus restrictions are lifted, as they discus the two title fights slated for action at Bellator 242, as Ryan Bader puts his light heavyweight title on the line against Vadim Nemkov, while former middleweight champ Gegard Mousasi takes on current welterweight champion Douglas Lima for the vacant 185-pound title.

There’s also an update on the state of the bantamweight division – where the title remains vacant following Kyoji Horiguchi’s decision to relinquish the belt due to injury – plus a message from Bellator president Scott Coker, who promised to bring fights back to our screens as soon as possible.

“We are going to have these fights made up in the future. We are going to continue the tournament,” he said.

“As you guys know, we’re all under quarantine right now. When that quarantine ends, and the government lets us know that we can come back, we’ll be back to putting on these fights.”
